A few of you may have heard that my husband and I have recently decided to put our home in Windward on the market. This week we are cleaning our house to get it ready to show. I've spent the last several days cleaning my craft studio. Not only was it a cluttered mess, but our agent wanted it spartan. Well, anyone who crafts knows that spartan and craft studio usually don't go together.
While I understand why she said spartan, it wasn't an easy task for me. My upper cabinets don't have doors on them, so it was quite a chore.
But what I wanted to share, is how liberating the task became. It felt wonderful to box up years worth of old paper, ribbons and such. In the last few years, I have totally changed how I create. I got rid of 99% of my ribbon and bling. I realized I don't need one of every color under the sun. Now that I use Copics and Distress Stain, I can color clear bling, white pearls and white silk ribbon any color I want. I always have the correct color. Now here's the tough part. I can't mess the room up. And I love to get my hands messy!!!
Here's the after. And now on to the guest room for more cleaning. Happy Fourth!!!
