See Ya Later

Altered Angel Scrapbooks is officially closed.  I would like to thank all my customers for shopping with us these last few weeks and stopping  by to say “see ya later.”  It was great that everyone was so encouraging.  One reason I love crafting so much is the friendships that are formed.  I started this adventure in 2010 when my husband incorporated Altered Angel Inc. as a surprise Valentine/anniversary gift for me.  And if you would have told me how it would end, I would still have done it.  It has been so rewarding and I have absolutely no regrets.  I’ve met wonderful people and indulged in my love of crafting.   I’m keeping my Facebook page.  The name might change to just Mary Harrell instead of Altered Angel-Mary Harrell.  I would love to keep in touch with everyone.

 

Local stores are where friends come together to share their passion for creating.   And I do strongly believe that local stores are the backbone of the crafting industry.  Without local stores, new trends aren’t started and new ideas don’t take shape.

 

So please do me a favor and continue to shop locally whether in Atlanta, or while you are on vacation.  Some of our biggest sales came from tourists who were visiting Atlanta and decided to Google local scrapbook stores.  There are still 3 fantastic choices here in metro Atlanta.

1. Impressive Ideas in Roswell (impressiveideas.net and on Facebook).  Bonnie Greenberg, the owner, is one talented lady and she loves to show off a new technique.  Check out her store, but plan to spend a couple hours there.  It is fantastic.
2. Rubber Stamp Fantasy in Marietta (rubberstampfantasy.com).  While it is primarily a stamp store, if you are in the area, don’t miss it.  It’s located on the square in Marietta.  It’s a great stop for stamp shopping, lunch and antiquing.
3. EMI Scrapbooks in Cumming (on Facebook).  Get your scrap fix at Susan’s store.  She also hosts an annual weekend with Teresa Collins.  Look for me there next year.

 

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for shopping, crafting and laughing with us.  I can truly say that every day I worked at the store was a happy day.  And a special thank you to my dear friends (Dianne, Karen, Kathleen, Danielle and Blayne).  I could not have had this wonderful adventure without you.  You were there to not only help me run the register but to lift me up too.
